Per Kg vs Per Piece Laundry in Makkah: Which Is Cheaper for You?

A kilogram rate is multiplied by the agreed weight for the chosen service. The number of garments alone does not establish that weight. A bag of light clothes and a bag with thick garments can look similar but weigh differently. Do not use the size of a shopping bag as if it were a scale reading, and do not assume that more pieces always mean a heavier load.

Start with our full laundry price list. Our iron and fold service is 13 SAR/kg for pressing and folding only, with no washing. Express laundry is 25 SAR/kg with an approximately 3-hour return for suitable orders after confirmation. Regular washing needs a WhatsApp quote. These are different services, so a lower number does not automatically meet the same need.

Ask which service applies before discussing a total. If a shirt needs washing, choosing an ironing-only rate does not solve the cleaning requirement. The final weight is checked at handover, so the total should match the service and weight agreed for the order. This guide does not state rates charged by hotels or other laundries, and its examples are not competitor comparisons.

Our Ihram cleaning is 15 SAR per piece. The lower cloth and upper cloth are two separate pieces, not one billable item called a set. Count the individual cloths you are sending. A price per piece makes the quantity question different from a kilogram service: you need a clear cloth count, not an assumed bag weight. Confirm any special care requirements before handing over the pieces.

Do not apply the Ihram piece price to shirts, abayas or every other garment. It is a confirmed rate for that particular service, not a sitewide per-item menu. Likewise, a per-kilogram ironing rate does not replace separate Ihram cleaning merely because the cloth has creases. Describe the garment and the intended care first, then use the correct unit to understand the quote.

For a longer discussion of what each service includes, read the Makkah laundry cost guide. It supports the same confirmed prices rather than introducing a second rate list.

Every quantity in this table is hypothetical. The two-kilogram examples are not estimates of a typical pilgrim's bag, and two Ihram pieces are not claimed to weigh two kilograms. The rows show arithmetic for different services, not three interchangeable ways to clean the same load. A lower example total may reflect a different task or quantity rather than a saving available to your own order.

Use multiplication only after the unit and service have been confirmed. For a kilogram service, multiply the agreed rate by the actual billable weight. For Ihram cleaning, multiply its piece rate by the confirmed cloth count. For regular washing or a care request without a published fixed price, ask for a quote rather than borrowing a number from another row. Keep the quoted total and inclusions together in the conversation.

Look at the contents qualitatively: lightweight garments, thick cotton, several layers or damp clothing can make bags feel different. Count what is inside and describe the main garment types to the service. If a suitable scale is available, you may use it to prepare a rough estimate, but the agreed handover weight still matters. This page gives no standard weight for a thobe, abaya, shirt or full laundry bag.

Separate clothes by service before trying to estimate anything. Clean creased clothes belong in an ironing discussion; clothes needing a wash belong in a washing discussion; Ihram cloths need their individual count. A single mixed-bag figure can hide those differences. Do not add personal items, toiletries or shoes to a garment weight estimate, and keep keys, money and documents out of the laundry bag.

Tell the service if a quantity is only an estimate. Ask how the confirmed weight and total will be communicated before collection. Avoid presenting a guess as a final order amount to your travelling companions, particularly when several people are sending different fabrics or services. Clear quantities are more useful than an apparently precise calculation based on an unmeasured bag.

First decide what result is needed: clean clothing, pressed clean clothing, or separately cleaned Ihram. Compare prices only within that requirement. The ironing-only rate may be sufficient for an already clean travel outfit, but it does not include washing a worn garment. Express includes a speed requirement that must be suitable and confirmed; it is not automatically necessary when there is no urgent deadline.

The laundromat versus pickup guide discusses practical choices beyond the charging unit. Time, carrying clothes and access to suitable facilities can matter, but no unverified alternative price should be used to declare one option cheaper. Ask about an actual quote and the work included rather than relying on a headline rate or an assumed discount.

This comparison does not create a lowest-price guarantee. The right order is the one that fits the clothing, care label and deadline with a clear confirmed total. If two options perform different tasks, explain that difference rather than calling the smaller bill a saving for equivalent work.

• The service for each garment group and whether washing is included.
• The actual weight or individual Ihram cloth count.
• Any special care requirement and its quote before collection.
• The agreed return time and hotel meeting point.

Pickup and delivery are always free with no minimum order. We are open 24/7; pickup in about 15 minutes is approximate, not guaranteed. Meet only at the main lobby or ground-floor entrance, never guest rooms or guest floors. We are independent of the hotel. Send your hotel name, chosen service and useful deadline on WhatsApp, then confirm the price before the clothes leave.
